Ever since we got the invite to design collections with Pottery Barn, Pottery Barn Kids, and Pottery Barn Teen, we’ve been on cloud nine. For us, this wasn’t just about making furniture and decor — it was about creating nostalgia-inspired heirlooms that grow with your family. Pieces that can fit into different phases of your life and home, whether you’re in the nursery phase or retiring at the family lake house (dreams!).

Bringing “Modern Traditional” to the Lake: The Inspiration

The timing couldn’t have been more perfect. When we bought our North Carolina lake house last year, we started dreaming up lake house decor and furniture that went beyond typical Americana or nautical vibes. We wanted something fresh, but also “modern traditional” in a way you’ve hopefully never seen before. These collections are the result of that inspiration, and we can’t wait for you to get your hands on them.

Here are the 5 pieces from each lake house collection that we immediately “added to cart” when they launched! (I couldn’t wait to bring them to the lake house, so we tried them around our Modern Colonial home first!)

Arched Antique-Style Mirror: The CLJ x PB Convex Mirror – I’d been searching for one forever, and couldn’t find one that was the right size or look. Most were vintage and grabbed quickly. This one is coming home with me before it sells out!
Wall-Mounted Heritage Dinner Bell: The CLJ x PB Dinner Bell – If you’ve followed along for a while, you’ll know we love (and use!) a dinner bell. This design is a nod to going to my grandparents’ house when I was little. The tradition carries on!
Modern Canopy Bed with Finials: The CLJ x PB Canopy Bed – This is every little girl’s dream, now in a size and style that we can enjoy as adults too!
Traditional Fluted Garden Planters: The CLJ x PB Outdoor Collection – I ordered these for the backyard. Can’t get enough of that traditional style brought into outdoor living.
Stacked Ball Pedestal Table: The CLJ x PB Extendable Dining Table – A lot of thought and work went into the “stacked ball” design of these table legs. Gives them that mix of modern and traditional. Love the idea of gathering all of our friends and family around this table.

Scalloped 7-Drawer Dresser: The CLJ x PB Kids Scallop Dresser – Living for these dresser details — it turned out to be a masterpiece.
Tight-Weave Rattan Table Lamp: The CLJ x PB Kids Ruffle Lamp – The tight weave makes the lamp feel traditional, which adds layers and texture to the room.
Timeless Nursery Armoire: The CLJ x PB Kids Wardrobe – Never not in love with a wardrobe! They’re a staple piece for, really, any room, from the nursery to your linen closet. (Hint: we designed this versatile kids’ furniture to work in adult spaces too!)
Plaid Swivel Nursery Glider: The CLJ x PB Kids Gingham Glider – I love stacking patterns, and this glider is a stunning way to do that in a nursery
Heirloom Spindle Crib: The CLJ x PB Kids Lakehouse 4-in-1 Crib – If one of my girls were a baby when we first got the lakehouse, I would have done anything for this crib and its gorgeous details.

Gingham Fabric Pinboard: The CLJ x PB Teen No-Nails Pinboard – We all wanted these as teens. Pinboards give them the canvas to add their personality to the room!
Classic Ruffle Gingham Bedding: The CLJ x PB Teen Cabin Quilt – You’ll notice lots of gingham patterns in this collection. I love patterned bedding because it feels classic for any age, but the ruffles add that romantic element for the dreamers!
Scalloped Storage Vanity Desk: The CLJ x PB Teen Scallop Vanity – This could be used for getting ready or art. All of my girls would use it differently, and that’s what makes it so versatile.
Modern Traditional Iron Hook Rack: The CLJ x PB Teen Hook Rack – I can never have enough hooks for my girls to hang backpacks, coats, and hats on. This is a beautiful way to keep things organized.
Vintage-Style Metal Bed Frame: The CLJ x PB Teen Iron Bed – I ordered two of these for the lakehouse. They’re great for teens, but great for guests too. Such an evergreen piece that evokes that modern-traditional style home!
