The Top 6 Fall Scents for Your Pura Smart Diffuser
Everyone gets excited to decorate for fall (same!) but an often overlooked element of decorating is how a home smells. Scent is such a powerful tool in making your home feel warm, welcoming, and seasonal. I’ve been a big fan of Pura’s smart diffusers since I first heard about them a couple of years ago. You can put them in rooms around your home and set them to turn off and off at certain times—plus control the intensity. That signature scent is one of the things people always notice when they come over, and it’s so easy to set up!
Here’s what I’ve noticed about the fall scents I actually keep in rotation: they’re never just one note. There’s something woodsy or spiced doing the work underneath — sandalwood, amber, cardamom, clove, a little leather — and then something fruity on top to keep it from feeling heavy. Plum, pear and apple are the ones that do it for me. Nothing here is a pumpkin candle, and I think you’ll be surprised how much more grown-up your house smells for it.
Santal Vanilla by Studio McGee
Notes: bergamot + white cardamom / vanilla, almond, violet leaf / sandalwood, amber
This one smells amazing in a bedroom. If you want fall in your house without pumpkin anything, start here.
Leather & Leaves by Anthropologie
Notes: leather, fir needle, cracked black peppercorn, oud, woodland musk
Not a cozy scent, an old-world library one. If your fall usually skews sweet, this is the one that balances the house out. Try it in a study or office.
Welcome Home by Bridgewater
Notes: cinnamon, plum, apple
Cinnamon, apple and a little plum…that’s the whole story, and it lands right on come in, take your shoes off. It does the work of a pot on the stove without the pot on the stove.
Cashmere Pear by Antica Farmacista
Notes: pear, green citrus, red berries / jasmine, orange flower, cyclamen / musk, cashmere vanilla, sandalwood
Pear is underrated in fall! This feels soft and yet a bit dressed up, like the backdrop for a dinner party with close friends.
Autumn Plum by Nest
Notes: wild plum, cinnamon, patchouli leaf, cashmere wood
It smells like fall, but not the overly spiced version. We can’t get enough of the warmth of this one; it’s just so inviting.
Simmered Cider by Thymes (scent / Copper Pot candle)
Notes: freshly pressed apple, crushed clove, cardamom, bourbon, malted rum
Pressed apple with clove and cardamom is the grown-up version of a cider candle. You have two options on this one: either use your Pura or simply get the candle in the pretty copper pot!
The easiest way to make sure my home smells incredible at all times is to keep a rotation of my favorite seasonal scents in my Pura smart diffuser. I just set them on a timed program, and it does the hard work of making my home smell amazing for me!
