This Is the Simplest Aura Nail Hack We’ve Seen Yet
For 45 years, OPI has defined the manicure lexicon. From cult classics like Funny Bunny and Big Apple Red to Lincoln Park After Dark and Strawberry Margarita, the brand’s shades have become beauty shorthand—instantly recognizable, endlessly referenced and consistently requested in salons around the world.
Now, in celebration of its milestone anniversary, OPI is remixing its most iconic hues for Spring 2026 with the launch of the OPIcons Collection, a modern twist on the colors that built the brand. And the storytelling is strong: The collection is described as a “love letter to the shades fans have made iconic over the decades,” featuring creative pairings that create fresh, nuanced hues. By blending two beloved shades—think the creamy softness of Bubble Bath meeting the crisp brightness of Funny Bunny, or the timeless boldness of Big Apple Red reimagined with unexpected undertones—the launch delivers something both familiar and new.
Leading the charge is OPI Global Ambassador Coca Michelle, who is translating the nostalgia of OPI’s heritage into something entirely fresh. Her statement-making aura manicure, created by using two colors from the new OPIcons Spring Collection, feels ethereal, luminous and perfectly aligned with the season’s softer, mood-driven beauty direction.
To create the aura effect, Michelle blended a serene lavender (Mod About Me) with a vivid creme orange (the Shrimp Cocktail, inspired by the one-and-only Cajun Shrimp), diffusing the pigments into one another for a soft, glowing finish that mimics the look of an aura or the iridescence of opal. The result is a manicure that feels both whimsical and refined—dreamy in color, but polished in execution. It’s nail art with intention: subtle dimension, modern contrast and a high-gloss finish that keeps the look elevated and fresh.
