Courteney Cox Has a Monica Geller Moment in New Video—and Her Go-To Mascara Makes a Cameo
Courteney Cox has long acknowledged the parallels between herself and Monica Geller, her neat-freak Friends character, and a new video posted to her Instagram last week does little to dispel the comparison.
In the clip, Cox is joined by English singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran in her kitchen, where he attempts to reheat leftover noodles. Chaos (and oil) ensues as Cox follows Sheeran around issuing directions—“I will clean it!” “I put a paper towel under your hand!”—while keeping a bottle from her Homecourt cleaning line within reach. “There goes our friendship…there is oil everywhere!” she jokes as she moves to get Sheeran out of the kitchen and clean up the spill.
Also visible in the video is one of Cox’s go-to beauty products: Sweed Beauty’s Cloud Mascara ($30), instantly recognizable by its teal, cloud-motif packaging. The mascara has built a cult following since its release, with the brand reporting that a tube sells roughly every two minutes. Its signature Cloud-shaped wand is designed to separate each lash from root to tip for a fanned-out, false-lash effect, while the vegan, cruelty-free formula is infused with vitamins B5 and C to help condition and strengthen lashes. It’s also formulated to resist flaking and smudging throughout the day.
Sweed, a Scandinavian brand, has become a favorite among makeup artists and celebrities, counting Millie Bobby Brown, Selena Gomez, Jasmine Tookes and Kensington Tillo among its fans. Cox also previously featured the brand’s lip pencil in a get-ready-with-me (GRWM) video.
The video is the latest in a long-running string of viral moments between Cox and Sheeran, whose friendship dates back more than a decade and includes a memorable 2021 recreation of Monica and Ross’s “Friends” dance routine. We can only hope there’s more to come.
